Swedish game developer Simcito announced that it will soon begin a free public test of its online racing simulator Driver's Republic. Testing will initially be limited to 400 users, selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration began in June 2006.

Driver's Republic, formerly known by its working title Racecom, features a unique and fully-modular content creation system. Simcito aims for Driver's Republic to become a leading platform for realistic race simulation, with support for a wide range of racing series, from rallying to circuit racing.
