Battleground Europe: World War II Online™ is a combined arms, online simulation set in a relentless, action-packed 3D environment where players can command and crew a variety of accurately modeled vehicles, naval vessels, and aircraft; or sling weapons and fight as a foot soldier with and against thousands of other players.

Battleground Europe: World War II Online™ is the first and still the only massively multiplayer first-person virtual battlefield that covers a 1/2 scale map of Europe with accurate terrain modeling. It allows thousands of players to fight 24/7 in a persistent world in which character advancement and career paths provide a rich RPG layer, and strategic systems are driven by player missions and command structure.

This is also the first game to feature TrackIR Enhanced support in a first person shooter environment! Now you can look around independently from where your weapon is aimed! This alone makes World War II Online™ a must play, but you can also explore the simulation in historically accurate tanks, aircraft and dozens of other vehicles of the period- all 3D cockpits are TrackIR Enhanced! This all adds up to the most exciting and immersive war simulation ever!

1. How to setup TrackIR functionality inside this game.
  1. Start TrackIR software, then start WWIIOL. (If you're using an old version of the TrackIR software, make sure it is in enhanced mode. this is automatic for the latest software).
  2. After WWIIOL has started, click "Keymapper" in the left column.
  3. Change the "Category" pull down menu from "GENERAL" to "VIEWS".

  4. Scroll down the function list, until you find "Mouse Look X" and "Mouse Look Y" (near bottom).
  5. Click the "Primary/Axis" column, next to the function you wish to define. It should turn yellow yellow. (Do not try to assign TrackIR to the Secondary/Keyboard Axis)
  6. At this point move your head from side to side and TrackIR will be recognized. This will make an entry in Blue, which reads "Track IR X" (or "Track IR Y" if you move your head up and down)

  7. Change the "Category" pull down menu from "VIEWS" to "TROOP".
  8. Repeat steps 4, 5, and 6 (above) for this category.
  9. You should now have TrackIR in Enhanced Mode in both the foot soldier mode and the various aircraft and vehicle modes.

  10. When playing as a foot soldier you have to initially press "N" to activate TrackIR.
A profile is a collection of settings for the TrackIR. You will find a variety of profiles that can be used with this game, in our community section.
