Placing The Clip
The spring steel clip will fit on any baseball cap, but was designed specifically for NaturalPoint’s TrackHAT.
The reflectors on the clip should face the same direction that your head is facing (ie, towards the computer screen).
To apply the clip, squeeze the front 2 feet, slip onto hat brim, and let go. The front two feet should be under the brim, while the central bar to to the raised reflector should be on top of the brim (see illustration at right).
Placing The TrackIR 3 (or 3-Pro)
For the best performance, make sure your TrackIR is at roughly the same level as the spring steel clip when using your computer (it is best to have the camera directly in front of the hat, not off to one side).
The TrackIR can be about 1 foot above or below the level of the Vector Clip, and still work fine. The ideal distance from the Vector clip to TrackIR is between 2 and 4 feet. This gives the TrackIR camera enough room to see the whole Vector clip as you move your head.
If you find yourself moving outside of the TrackIR camera's field of view a lot, you will want to adjust your profile to be more sensitive (so less movement will be enough to fully control your in-game view). Check the "Tracking Window" in the software to see what TrackIR sees through it's built-in camera.
Activating Vector Expansion : Through the TrackIR Software (preferred)
- You must have a TrackIR 3 or TrackIR 3-Pro to use this expansion.
- The latest TrackIR software must be installed before activating your Vector Expansion.

Please Note : You must have software version 4.0.021, or later, installed. All version 4.x software is only compatible with Windows 2000/XP operating systems.
- The main page of the TrackIR software has an "activate" button which will allow you to activate your Vector Expansion. Simply enter your email, Vector Serial Number*, and Vector Activation Code*. The software will then register and install a license for you.
Please Note : If a problem occurs in the activation process, you will be taken to a website with specific information about what happened. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact our technical support team (see below).
- Your Vector Expansion should now be successfully activated. Have fun!

Activating Vector Expansion : Through our Website (last resort)
- You can activate your Vector Expansion through our website, and the appropriate files will be emailed to you. You can then copy these files to your TrackIR Software directory, to activate Vector Expansion.
Please Note : This method is harder to implement, and only recommended for those who do not have internet access from the computer with TrackIR Software installed.
- You must have a TrackIR 3 or TrackIR 3-Pro to use this expansion.
- The latest TrackIR software must be installed before activating your Vector Expansion.

Enter your email, Vector Serial Number*, Vector Activation Code*, TrackIR serial number, and click submit. Two unique "License files" will then be emailed to you.

- Copy these two files to the TrackIR "License" directory (this is located on your hard drive, where your TrackIR software has been installed. Usually C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\License\ ).
- Your Vector Expansion should now be successfully activated. Have fun!
