Welcome ArmA: Armed Assault gamers!

This page explains what TrackIR adds to gameplay in Armed Assault, and offers links to several TrackIR resellers around Europe (so you can save on the cost of shipping).

TrackIR in ArmA

In Armed Assault, TrackIR puts your head motion into the gameplay, without interfering with the mouse keyboard or joystick controls you’re already used to. TrackIR just makes the experience more immersive, by ties your view to your head and upper body movements. All your motions in 3D space can be amplified separately, so you’ll never have to look away from the monitor.

Here some specific TrackIR advantages you’ll enjoy:
  • A much better situational awareness when landing helicopters, and using other vehicles.
  • Cool factor of looking away from your gun, and see it shift in your hands when you lean left and right.
  • Lean around corners without exposing your entire body.
  • Keep your gun and body aimed at an objective, while looking around separately to see if anyone is sneaking up on you.
  • Cover ground faster by running in straight lines (since TrackIR only turns your character’s head).
  • Communicate non-verbally in multiplayer, by simple nodding or shaking your head. No need to break radio silence!

What is a TrackIR?

The TrackIR™ device is a high-performance headtracking system that enables hands free view control in popular games and simulators such as Pacific Fighters, MS Flight Simulator 2004 , Lock On: Modern Air Combat, IL2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles, Live For Speed, GTR, World War II Online, and many more.

A slight turn of the pilot's head causes their in-game view to pan in any direction, totally independent of commands from mouse, keyboard, joysticks, and other accessories.

Look around your cockpit as if you were really there! Put Your Head In The Game!® For the highest level of realism in games and simulations, you have to use a TrackIR.
